Who We Are: The Heart and Vision of House of Grace
For more than 25 years, House of Grace has stood as a place of safety, compassion, and hope for survivors of domestic violence in Northwest Mississippi. What started as one shelter meeting a need, has grown into a non-profit organization serving over 11 counties throughout Northwest Mississippi. Our services include emergency temporary shelter, crisis intervention, housing assistance, advocacy, and outreach.
Each year we reach more that 80 survivors, victims, and their children into our shelter and provide help and advocacy to over 1,200 individuals needing safety, support, and stability.
Our mission is simple. Provide, shelter, support, and hope to those escaping domestic violence. We are proud to offer bilingual services serving immigrant and non-english speaking individuals. We let no boundary stand in between victims and survivors and the services we offer.
At House of Grace, we walk with our survivors and victims and their children through there situation, but also into their healing journey. Providing certified trauma-informed counseling to our House of Grace individuals by our certified counselor is a key part of moving on and gaining independence and stability.
The truth, abuse doesn't see gender, race, religious beliefs, financial situation, age, or sex. At House of Grace we welcome to any and all of those escaping domestic violence. Everyone deserves a life free from violence. We work hand in hand with law enforcement, healthcare providers, legal partners, and community organizations to ensure that victims and survivors have the resources they need to heal.
Looking Ahead: Our Vision for the Future
As we continue to grow, House of Grace is committed to doing more for our community. We envision a future where:
Public education about domestic violence is widespread, helping people recognize abuse early and respond with compassion.
Community involvement is strong, where neighbors, businesses, schools, and churches all stand together in partnership against domestic violence.
Public awareness and safety increase through events, campaigns, and open conversations that challenge harmful myths and silence.
We stand with survivors and victims, ensuring their safety is priority, their voices heard, their stories respected, and their needs valued.
We advocate for stronger legislation that protects victims, empowers survivors, and supports families rebuilding their lives after abuse.
We help break the stigma surrounding domestic violence so that no one feels ashamed to ask for help.
With the support of our community, board members, volunteers, and partners, House of Grace serving others and continue leading the way toward a safer, more compassionate Mississippi. One where everyone can live free from fear.
